Mission Statement
The overall
mission of the NMSU-Alamogordo biology program is to:
-
prepare NMSU-A students for specialized
training in the allied health fields
-
to prepare NMSU-A students for upper
division education in the biological sciences
-
to provide NMSU-A non-science majors
with the biology background that they need to understand biologically-relevant
current events
General Information
The NMSU-A biology cluster is located
in the Charles R. Reidlinger
Science
Center. The Science Center, which is located on the campus of
NMSU-Alamogordo, houses the biology,
chemistry, geology, and phyics
laboratories,
as well as the Helen.
D. Tays Computer Center. The Science
Center also houses the offices
of many of the instructors within the Division
of Math, Science, and Technology.
The NMSU-A biology cluster is coordinated
by Marcia Skaar, Associate
Professor of Biology and Medical Laboratory
Technology. The Division of
Math, Science, and Technology, which
subsumes the biology program, is
chaired by Roberta
Himebrook, Professor of Mathematics.
