About the PIO
Begun in 1992, the Public Information Office (formerly known as Information Services) is a major force in the comprehensive marketing efforts of NMSU-A. The office collaborates with various campus areas to promote a positive, progressive image which is consistent with the aims, mission, and philosophy of the college as they blend with New Mexico State University policy. The overall purpose of the office is to:
- provide support services for campus areas,
- foster greater public awareness of NMSU-A, and
- generate goodwill and support of the college through its communications and public relations activities.
The PIO has been honored with awards for outstanding marketing pieces, advertising, and special events 23 times since 1993.
