About Us

David H. Townsend Library

Townsend Library contains over 50,000 books, over 400 magazine/journal subscriptions, nearly 2,000 New Mexico State Documents, and several thousand audiovisual titles. The present library building was completed in 1982. It was officially named "David H. Townsend Library" on October 30, 1992. David H. Townsend was a history professor at NMSU-A, Branch Campus Director from 1978-1982, and remains a long-time library supporter.

Mission Statement

By promoting information literacy and providing resources and services, David H. Townsend Library supports the academic goals of New Mexico State University at Alamogordo in serving its diverse communities.
