Potential Site for New NMSU-A Trades Center Building

G.O. Bond Election on April 1

On April 1st there will be a G.O. Bond Election held in Alamogordo. If passed, the revenues will go towards partial funding for a new Southern New Mexico Advanced Technology Center (Trades Center), as well as provide funds for some major campus renovation projects. The Student Union Building (SUB) offers ways to relax and hangout, providing television and games such as pool, foosball, and air hockey. Tables to eat and study are available. Contained within the SUB is the Bistro, serving sandwiches, hot dogs, snacks, drinks, and a hot entree for lunch. The Bistro is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

NMSU-A is forming a new Student Congress, kicking off with a Constitutional Convention held on February 8th!

NMSU-A's All-New Mexico Students!

NMSU-A Students Bethany Davis and Ryan Hannahoe, pictured here with NMSU-A President Cheri Jimeno, are on the All-New Mexico Academic Team. Bethany and Ryan recently attended an All-New Mexico Academic Team Ceremony at the State Capitol where they received a full two-year scholarship offer to any state university in New Mexico and a gold medallion. Congratulations!

George Green, NMSU-A Faculty Member, has his artwork on display at the Townsend Library. A reception for the artist will be given on Thursday, January 24th from 2 to 3 PM. As always, this is open to the public.

Townsend Library is open to the public and community members are eligible to check out library materials. Stop on in!

Changes to Townsend Library

The NMSU-A Townsend Library has made many recent improvements, including a new open floorplan and more accessible magazines & journals. Future improvements include 18 computers with 19" widescreen displays and the ability to checkout laptops for use within the library.

As always, the NMSU-A Library is open to the public. Check it out!

Registration for Alamogordo Community Education classes is happening now! Call 439-3842 to sign up for any of our wide variety of classes for both adults and children. You may view our fall class schedule online!

The Alamogordo Community Education office is located on the NMSU-A Campus in room CB 401.

The Bistro is now open

NMSU-A Bistro Now Open!

NMSU-A's newest edition, The Bistro, is now open inside the Student Union! Food items include burritos, sandwiches, hot dogs, and a daily special hot entree. So stop on by, grab some food and drink, and hang out in your Student Union! The Bistro's hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 8:00 pm
  • Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

NMSU-A's Nursing Program

The NMSU-A Nursing Program provides educational preparation leading to an Associate Degree in Nursing. Upon completion graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX for licensure as a Registered Nurse.   A Pre-Nursing Certificate Program is also available. Academic Support Center Now Open

The new Academic Support Center (ASC) is now open! The center is the new home of both the Writing Center and Math & Science Learning Center. Tutoring help, computers, instructional videos, and study tables are all available. Stop on by!
