Distance learning or distance education is sending and receiving information through electronic media, such as satellite broadcasts, the Internet, and two-way interactive audio and/or video. The NMSU-A Distance Learning program provides a flexible, powerful, efficient, convenient means to lifelong learning.
The Distance Learning program at NMSU-A boths sends and receives courses. Currently, NMSU-A faculty offer web-based courses and classes via interactive television and the World Wide Web.
NMSU-A also receives undergraduate and graduate courses from our main campus in Las Cruces. Each semester and during the summer, NMSU-A receives junior, senior and graduate level courses from main campus via live two-way interactive television, Internet, and on-site instructors.
You will need Adobe Reader installed to take the self assessment test.
A new system has been installed at NMSU. Before accessing WebCT, you are required to activate your username and password for use with WebCT. To activate your account, at my.NMSU.edu click on the Activate button on the left side of the screen, enter your social security number and birth date.
If you have an account with NMSU, your username will be displayed and you will be prompted for your password. If you do not know your password, contact Stan McCann (439-3627, office outside Computer Center) or Dave Sanders (439-3790, office just inside Computer Center door) for a password reset.
If you do not have a current account, the activation process will create one for you.
WebCT uses a different system which is updated nightly. Your username and password may not work to access WebCT until the following day. Wait until tomorrow to try it.
Once you have activated your account on my.NMSU.edu, password and PIN resets are self service.
