Procedure for logging into my.NMSU.edu

All persons must first register (activate) with myNMSU prior to logging into the system.

To register:

  1. In a modern web browser, go to http://my.nmsu.edu.
  2. On the left-hand side of the window, click on the "Please click here to activate your account now" button.
  3. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the process.

If you reach a screen with your username and a place to enter a password and you do not know your password, please see Stan McCann or Dave Sanders at the Alamogordo branch Computer Center offices for a password reset.

To log in

  1. In a modern web browser, go to http://my.nmsu.edu.
  2. On the right-hand side of the window, enter your Username and Password, then click the Login button or press the ENTER key.

Why register for an account on my.nmsu.edu?

The registration procedure need be completed only once. If you have problems with any of the above procedures, contact Stan McCann at 439-3627 or David Sanders at 439-3790. As resetting a password for someone requires that we verify identity, coming to the Computer Center with a picture ID is the recommended method of contact. Just ask for Stan or Dave.

At this time, there is not much functionality in my.NMSU.edu. The important things that will be useful to you as a student is the username for use with WebCT, the ability to manage your PIN that is necessary for on-line registration and checking grades, and email. Your password is also self managed once you have registered and are in the system.

To reset your PIN number

(once registered, you can reset your PIN yourself)

  1. In a modern web browser, go to http://accounts.nmsu.edu
  2. In the menu at the upper left of the window, click on the "Reset your PIN" link.
  3. Enter your username and password in the spaces provided, then click the Continue button.
  4. The next screen should provide spaces to enter a PIN (six digits), Enter the number you wish to set your PIN to, follow the on screen instructions to complete the process.

To reset your Password

(once registered, you can reset your password yourself)

  1. In a modern web browser, go to http://accounts.nmsu.edu
  2. In the menu at the upper left of the window, click on the "Forgot your NMSU Password?" link.
  3. Fill in your Social Security Number and birth date information, then click the Continue button.
  4. The next screen asks your secret question. Enter the answer for your secret question, Then click the Check button.
  5. The system will assign you a randomly generated password that you will change upon logging into my.nmsu.edu. Make sure you note the password down or you will have to go through the process again. TIP: double click on the password to highlight it, then right click and select copy from the popup menu. Go immediately to my.nmsu.edu and enter your username. Right click in the password field and select paste from the popup menu to place your temporary password in the field.
