Office Hours: Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00am - 12;00noon; 5:00 - 5:30pm; 8:15 - 9:00pm; and by appointment. BACKGROUND / EDUCATION: You wake up one morning and
wonder what has become of you. You
started
out as a construction laborer and you end up constructing lives.
Along
the way, you received an A.A. at Highline Community College at Des
Moines,
Washington; a B.S. in Psychology, an M.A. and a PhD. in Communication
and Rhetorical
Theory and Criticism, all at the University of Washington at Seattle,
Washington.
Then you end up teaching Communication courses at New Mexico
State
University at Alamogordo. You teach public speaking, principles
of
human communication, nonverbal communication, small group
communication, gender
communication, persuasion, storytelling, oral interpretation of
literature,
oral interpretation of children's literature, tutoring for the
humanities
and social sciences and intercultural communication. You get
married
and you have two kids. You play the guitar, volleyball,
basketball and
chess. You are co-faculty advisor of the SNEA and you serve as
Editor
of the campus newsletter. You love to read. You look at the
rhetorical
dimension of physics and psychology as a research interest. You
do
weird things like write in second-person. Ah, Life!
