Online Writing Lab (OWL)
Welcome!
The Online Writing Lab (OWL) is an extension of the Academic Support Center. You can submit a paper to OWL for feedback at any time during the semester. Writing tutors are there to assist you through the writing process; however, please feel free to submit your papers through OWL whenever you do not have the time to make a personal appearance. Please note that OWL tutors are not editors nor proofreaders, and that they there here to guide students to become better writers.
How To Submit Your Writing For Tutor Feedback
You can consider your submission private and safe from being plagiarized. Your paper can be viewed only by the OWL tutors. Please read the instructions below carefully before submitting your paper.
To get the most effective feedback from your tutor please do the following:
- Format your document in MS Word. We have MS Word, so if your document is written in a program other than MS Word please convert it, or we may not be able to read it. Go to OpenOffice.org and download the free software there that can convert most word processing to MS Word.
- Submit your document with your name in the file and in the document.
- In the body of the email message, you MUST include the following information or your submission could be rejected!
- Your NMSU Student ID
- The Course ID
- The Course Title
- Instructor's Name
